The Dirt Divas Mountain Biking Program covers the gamut of mountain biking with a variety of free monthly events. These happenings include presentations from women throughout the industry at the Dirt Divas lecture nights, twice a months organized group rides, skills clinics, and bike repair and maintenance events.
Trying out a sport like mountain biking for the first time can be really intimidating in such an athletic city like Bend. This is what really makes the Dirt Divas Mountain Biking Program such an asset to newer riders. We leverage the talent, experience and resources available to us in Bend and deliver it in an approachable way for someone who is just starting out.
The Dirt Divas Nights: Mountain Biking 101 program is designed as an introductory informational session for women who want to know more about mountain biking, or are looking to feel more confident discussing mountain bikes in a shop. We’ll talk about how to choose the right bike for you including the differences between full suspension and hardtails as well as the pros and cons of 26 inch wheeled bikes versus 29er bikes.
We will delve into nutrition and fitness tips, trail etiquette, and what to bring and what to wear when hitting the trails. Women should walk away from the Dirt Divas Nights: Mountain Biking 101 class and be able to confidently talk about bikes in a bike shop.
