New this season! We are offering a group mountain bike night ride from the store. This free, guided night ride is open to all riders and will require the use of a good lighting system. Pine Mountain Sports will offer a limited number of demo lights for the evening, and special pricing on Light & Motion lighting prior to the ride. Our hot waxing clinic will cover the basics on how to tune and wax your skis at home. Glide waxing techniques in this clinic can be applied to all types of skis and snowboards. And yes, your €œwax-less€ XC skis still need wax on the tips and tails. Even if you have no intention of doing your own ski waxing, this clinic will give the knowledge you need to make sure your skis are maintained and performing at their best. BEGINNERS SKATE SKI LESSON – $20

A morning group lesson for beginning skate skiers led by our friends at MBSEF. Meet at Pine Mountain Sports by 9am. We will carpool to Meissner Sno-Park (or Bachelor if needed), and our MBSEF instructor will guide us thru the basics of skate skiing. Lesson length is approx 90 minutes. No experience is needed but you’ll need to provide your own skate gear (which can be rented at Pine Mtn. Sports the day before for $25). Dress warm, but in layers (as you’ll probably get hot). Bring a few dollars for the grooming donation box at Meissner. RSVP and $20 advance payment required as lesson space is limited. No refunds given for cancellations made within 7 days of the outing. Ready to skip the lifts and earn your turns? A backcountry ski or splitboard lets you make tracks uphill as well as down. This clinic is tailored to backcountry beginners. We’ll discuss equipment basics from Tele to AT to splitboards as well as how to use climbing skins. We’ll share clothing secrets to keep you cool when climbing and warm when descending, and examine ways to efficiently pack your gear. BEGIN TO SKIN: BC 101 GUIDED BACKCOUNTRY SKI OUTING – $85

SUNDAYS 8A (Meeting at Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center)
This is the perfect first day-long outing for any aspiring backcountry skier or split boarder. We will start at Mt. Bachelor and ride sleds to a quiet backcountry ski spot in the Central Oregon Cascades. This learning opportunity from Oregon Ski Guides will give participants a comfortable introduction to the basics of touring and climbing, snow safety, skinning up, and skiing or split boarding down some beginning and intermediate runs. We will meet at the front entrance of the Mt. Bachelor Nordic Center at 8AM (45 minute drive time from Bend). RSVP and pre-payment of $85 is required. Pack a lunch, as it’ll be a full day. Registrants will receive an email with required gear to bring. Shovels, probes and beacons required but also available if requested in advance (via the trip application). This outing is limited to 6 people as we maintain a ratio of 6 people per AMGA trained/ certified ski guide. NOTE: this outing does not take the place of an avalanche safety course!
